01 AT A GLANCE

The data plumbing of betting

Sportradar is a NASDAQ-listed sports-data, betting-data and integrity company headquartered in Switzerland, founded in 2001 and led by Carsten Koerl. It bundles official-data rights, betting feeds, AV streaming and integrity monitoring into a roughly €1.3bn business, and in late 2025 acquired IMG ARENA's data-rights portfolio — consolidating the data-rights layer by removing a distressed rival.

Its moat is breadth plus integrity. The company monitors global betting flows for fraud, with partnerships across UEFA, FIFA and the NBA, and its football footprint anchors on long-standing official-data and AV relationships, though the precise current UEFA scope was not independently verified for 2026. Its 2026 guidance points to strong growth as the IMG ARENA assets are integrated.

03 OPERATING REALITY

How the business actually functions

The IMG ARENA deal is consolidation of the data-rights layer, not just scale: Sportradar removed a distressed competitor and absorbed its rightsholder relationships cheaply, though the near-term cost shows up as amortisation and integration drag, and a Q1 2026 net loss driven by currency. Integrity is framed as charitable but is the structural moat — monitoring every regulated book's flows gives the company a data vantage point no pure-data rival has, with the UEFA and FIFA ties the reputational anchor.

Currency is now a material swing factor on a Swiss-reporting, dollar-heavy revenue base, so headline quarterly losses can be FX rather than operational. The competitive frame is a contract-by-contract rights auction with Genius Sports and Sportradar's breadth advantage offset by Genius's grip on premium official rights.

04 STRATEGIC POSTURE

Direction in 2026

The posture is integrating IMG ARENA, guiding to roughly €1.57bn of revenue, and returning capital through buybacks. The open questions are the verified scope and term of Sportradar's UEFA football rights, whether IMG ARENA's football and tennis content complements or cannibalises existing rights, whether the non-profit framing of integrity is sustainable under regulatory scrutiny, and how much of the 2026 EBITDA upgrade is organic versus acquired.
